For 20 years, I was a teacher and I absolutely loved it. Helping children in their early years, being part of a team, watching them grow, it was truly rewarding. After several years in the classroom I became a mum. When my first child was born, everything started to change. I began to see things differently. My priorities were shifting, even though I was still happy in my teaching career. I realised how precious my time was and I wanted to spend as much of it as I could with my son. I tried to balance being a full-time teacher and a mum, but it wasn’t easy.
When I went for a promotion and didn’t get it, it pushed me to slow down and refocus on what really mattered: my family. When I became pregnant with my second child, I decided to go part-time. My priorities shifted. Work became something that supported my family life, not something that defined me. My family came first and I was happy with that.
But over time, teaching changed. The demands grew, the technology evolved, and I began to feel out of touch. I loved my students, but I didn’t love the system anymore.
As my children got older, I started to wonder, what’s next for me?
I started asking myself, who am I now, beyond being a mum and a teacher? I didn’t want a job. I wanted a career that made me proud again. One that gave me flexibility, purpose, and joy.

But every time I looked, nothing felt right. I felt stuck. Lost. Like it might be too late to start over. I didn’t have the experience for a new career, and I didn’t know where to start.
Then one day, I came across the words life coach on a list I’d written. I started researching, and instantly something clicked. Everything about it spoke to me.
That night, I enrolled on a course, and I haven’t looked back since.
The idea of helping people grow, dream big, and create real change felt so right. And the thought of running my own business? Exciting and terrifying all at once.
Coaching completely transformed the way I saw myself. It gave me back my confidence, my purpose, and a new sense of possibility.
Now, I help mums just like me do the same, to rebuild their confidence, rediscover who they are, and find new careers that fit the life they are excited to wake up to.
Because it’s never too late to start again.
You just need the courage to believe that you can.
